Next Wednesday January 9 (postmark date) is the deadline for applications to the third annual Hillman Foundation Prize for Canadian Journalism, which honours excellence in journalism in the service of the common good.
The Hillman Prize is awarded to:
A reported piece or series produced, published, broadcast or exhibited in 2012. Eligible entries include reporting in newspapers, magazines, and online, as well as film and broadcast journalism (television and radio), photojournalism, and multi‐media. The contest is open to journalists and subjects globally, although the content must have been published in Canada.
The winner is announced in early March and receives a cash prize of $5000, and is recognized at a reception in Toronto on March 19 and at the Hillman Foundation ceremony in New York on May 7.
Entries require a cover letter and four sets of original tear sheets. There is no fee to enter.
