Toronto Global
MULTIMEDIA WRITER & STORYTELLER
(FULL-TIME, 12-MONTH CONTRACT)
Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 annually Vacancy Status: Existing Vacancy
WHO WE ARE
Toronto Global is the first point of contact for international businesses looking to expand in the Toronto Region. Our expert team works closely with companies to help them make connections and access talent in North America’s fastest-growing, most-educated, and diverse market. Funded by all three levels of government, our services include industry and academic partnerships, strategic research, marketing and PR, and government relations.
OUR PEOPLE AND CULTURE
We’re a small-but-mighty marketing and communications team inside Toronto Global. Our job is to tell the story of the city and its surrounding region to the world, and we take that seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
You’ll work alongside writers, designers, strategists, and video folks who care about craft: sharp ideas, strong visuals, clean editing, and work that actually lands with an audience. We experiment across platforms, learn fast, and share feedback early, because the best work gets built in the open.
We’re based downtown, steps from St. Andrew Station surrounded by the best parts of Toronto: culture, restaurants, sports, and just enough street-level chaos to keep you awake. We work in a flexible hybrid setup with a minimum of 3 days/week in-office and up to 2 days/week from home.
If you want a place where your work matters, your ideas get airtime, and “FDI” turns into real stories about people, places, and ambition, you’ll feel at home here.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Multimedia Writer & Storyteller supports our digital-first marketing and communications efforts by turning complex topics into clear, compelling content. You’ll help shape stories across web, social, and video, writing and editing everything from short-form posts and scripts to longer features and campaign content.
This role is a fit for a strong writer who’s as comfortable chasing a strong angle as they are polishing a headline, tightening a script, or building a narrative arc from interview notes. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative team and internal partners, and you’ll see your work published and used quickly, not parked in drafts.
