Submissions for the 42nd National Magazine Awards are now being accepted! Magazines and creators are invited to submit their best work of 2018 in 29 categories. A $1000 cash prize will be awarded to the gold medal winners in the writing & visual categories. In addition, two special awards will be presented.

- Pay the required entry fees ($100 for most entries)
- Courier hard copies (if required)
Freelancer Support Fund
The Freelancer Support Fund allows independent creators to save 50% on registration fees for their first two entries.
Digital Categories
Content published in digital editions or by magazine websites is eligible in most categories. Beginning January 2, Digital publications are also invited to participate in the 2019 Digital Publishing Awards.
Outstanding Achievement Award
The Outstanding Achievement award recognizes the contribution of an industry professional in the Canadian magazine industry. The award is open to everyone in the industry. Nominations must be received by March 1, 2019.
National Magazine Awards: B2B
In addition to submitting for the NMA category of Professional Article, B2B journalists and publications are invited to enter the inaugural National Magazine Awards: B2B. Awards in 19 categories will recognize the work of business-to-business creators and editorial teams, with $500 cash prizes for Gold winners in creator-focused categories. Submissions open on January 3, 2019.
