About the 2021 Emcee

Sandra Martin

The National Media Awards Foundation is delighted to announce that Sandra E. Martin will once again host the National Magazine Awards’ virtual event!

Not to make light of lockdown—although, after 14 months, what else can creators do?—but if there’s been a bright side to “all of this,” it’s that much of the world has rediscovered reading during COVID. And we, as magazine writers, editors, designers, and publishers, have found new ways to reach our audiences; to expand our audiences as well. The National Magazine Awards may look and sound different than it did even a couple years ago, but there is still so much to celebrate—because magazines are vital; they are innovative; they enrich readers lives, amid “all of this.”
