Quill & Quire marks 80th anniversary with special issue

Quill & Quire magazine, the eminent guide to Canada’s book publishing industry, is marking its 80th anniversary with a special issue highlighting 80 books, people and events that have helped shape Canadian literature.
“It’s by no means a definitive list, ” Q&Q editor Sue Carter told Masthead online.:

We called on experts, and spent hours with our image archive, sorting through fresh-faced author photos and candid snaps of book launches, dance parties, and fairs. There was early talk of ranking the entries, but who wants to pit Alice Munro against Anne Shirley? There are the obvious inclusions the moneyed prizes, literary stalwarts, and dominant publishers are all here—but we also selected quiet moments that may have slipped by unnoticed but were in some way meaningful to various communities.

Quill & Quire is published 10 times per year by St. Joseph Media. The anniversary April issue is available now. #QuillLove.
